I had such a fabulous birthday!! I’ve mentioned this before but Adam & I celebrate an entire birthday weekend where the whole weekend is full of lots of fun things for the birthday girl or boy. Adam started my birthday out by having me wake up to balloons on our bed and our entire house decked out with balloons, streamers & birthday signs. When I went to get in the car to go to the Y, I found my car full of balloons as well! So fun!
As I mentioned in my Flip Burger post, Adam surprised me with a night away to Atlanta. He is so sweet and said he did what I would do and researched restaurants on Yelp & Urban Spoon. He found a FABULOUS breakfast place called West Egg Cafe. It had a great atmosphere and lots of Southern style options and they also serve lunch.
These are hands down the best pancakes I’ve ever had! No kidding! So light and fluffy but dense and rich at the same time…amazing! I got mine with chocolate chips and Adam had the special of pancakes with bluberries and bacon in them which was also divine.
When we arrived at my in-laws to pick up Hershey (our doggie) a package from Crumbs Bake Shop was waiting for me!!! Adam order a half dozen cupcakes for us to eat on for the weekend. We cut each of them into sections like you would a full cake so we could try them all. Don’t worry, I did share!:) He got my favorite, choc. chip cookie dough, peanut butter cup, s’mores, devil’s food, red velvet & raspberry swirl. They were all delicious!! So sweet of him!!
The rest of the weekend involved LOTS of pool time, tennis (both playing & watching Wilmbedon), chicken salad picnics from our fave local spot Jenkin’s, dinner with friends at Outback, renting movies and fireworks in downtown Chattanooga. Great weekend and now I am going to have to get back to eating healthy! Put on a few lbs. this weekend but it was worth it!
