Strawberry on Top: Our New House

Hey friends! Hope you all are having a great week! I don’t know about you but this has been one of the busiest summers ever! Of course with the move, getting our house settled, and a slew of other things. Also, I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned it on here before but I used to be a full time wedding planner. Now I only do it on the side for family & friends (didn’t like working every weekend when I was full time), so I just do a few a year…just so happens that I had two this month on back to back weekends! It’s really fun, but I am exhausted! I haven’t gotten to spend too much time in the kitchen this month, but I am hoping to have time to plan out meals and bring you some great new recipes in August. Since I haven’t been in the kitchen much I thought it would be fun to share pictures of our new townhouse (this will not turn into a house blog-just thought it would be fun to share). I do have a couple of treats I’ve been eyeing in the blogosphere at the bottom, so there is food in this post.;) Hope you like our house!

Our house is a two bedroom ranch style townhome.

Living Room-I’m not sure about the mixed furniture, what do you think? We originally bought the dark chair for the guest bedroom but have left it here for now but may still move it. We are still in the process of hanging pictures, so it’s a little bare still.

Love the open floor plan and vaulted ceiling in the living room.

View of Kitchen (Granite counters and an undermount sink!! Love!) & Dining Area

Our Bedroom (Furniture from Ikea, Bedding from Bed, Bath & Beyond

Guest Bedroom, this is functioning as our office. The other side of the room is a mess so I’ll just be sharing this view. 🙂
Now for the food:)Some favorite things I’ve seen around the blogosphere lately and am so anxious to make:

Cosmic Brownies from The Spiffy Cookie

S’mores Ice Cream from Runs With Spatulas (how I WISH I had an ice cream maker!!)

  1. Congratulations on your new home! I think the furniture looks nice together–pull it together with throw pillows that have both dark and light colors in them. Love the open floor plan and love your bedding, also!
Maybe an ice cream maker can be your housewarming gift to yourself?:)

Gotta love the kitchen! Brightly lit and spacious enough for all those food preparations! As it is your first few days in your new home, I'm sure that you'll totally get used to it as time passes.
